How To Ask The Right Questions In A Job Interview

Good job! You made it through your interview, but hold on, the interviewer turns the tables and asks one more question. That being, “Do you have any questions for me?” This will be a standard part of almost every interview, and it is a great idea to come prepared with a few questions. But before we get into that, you need to understand why this is so important.

The follow up questions after an interview are critical and may put you ahead of other applicants that ask weak or no questions at all. Asking the right questions shows that you are interested in the job, gives you an opportunity to demonstrate industry knowledge that demonstrates you would be a good fit, and last (but not least) it gives you a better understanding of the job and its requirements. To put it simply, asking the right questions gives you an edge over other applicants as well as making sure you have a good understanding of the job and what it may entail.



Now that you understand the importance of post interview questions, it’s time for you to prepare some open ended questions for your interview. A general rule of thumb is to prepare 3-5 open ended questions for you to ask.
